Paintings With Soul

Since October 2006 I've been a daily painter, creating a new pet portrait at least 5 times per week. Over the years I've expanded my offerings to include a variety of animals, pets, race horses, children and other treasured heirlooms. In addition, I accept a limited number of commissions each year.

In 2015 I am honored to be the Kentucky Derby Artist.

You may use the links below right to receive my daily paintings via email or to follow my blog with a feed. I post additional info, including in-process jpgs and other related information, on the studio Facebook page as well.

Meanwhile, thanks
so much for your continued support of my artwork.

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting artistElizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson (above, on the right, stylishly dressed as always) in person. Over the past couple years, we'de become good friends via The Mutual Admiration Society.

She lives in Orlando, home-of-abnormally-large-insects (hence those practical Spider Stomping Shoes), and I hail from the-frozen-tundra-also-known-as-Michigan, which doesn't lend itself well to dinners or coffee or even hanging at the mall together. We resorted to shoring our friendship up with texts, emails, phone calls, Skype and good old snail mail.

I jumped at the chance to escort her to Traverse City, Michigan, where she was invited to teach a workshop this summer. Then, I smuggled her back to my house, where we spent a week clowning about, and she got to know My Better Half and the kids.

I placed a slideshow of our various adventures on the studio's Facebook page, so as not to burden your email box with downloading gazillions of images. Feel free to peek at all we packed into a few days.
