  New Prints Available see them now   Portobello (above) is one of 6 newly issued images in print form and smart phone cases. My online vendor (Fine Art America and Pixels) will print to order and ship directly to you, worldwide. This link   will take you to my new prints, however there are also   550 other images of mine to shop from as well , representing the last 2 decades of painting.   I believe everyone should have a chance to live with imagery they love, and know that for many of my fans and followers the cost of an original has grown out of reach. Which is why my prints have always been affordably priced at $20 above cost. If the cost of a print is too high, I recommend a notecard (only $2 above cost) which is also beautiful enough to frame. Historically I have offered prints after the original sells. I am wondering in today’s world, where beauty seems more necessary than ever before, why I am holding out. Just  reach out . Typically I begin by finding the animal and allowing the rest of the painting to show up intuitively. With this one, however, I flipped this approach on her side and laid the sky down to start. I wanted Fox to feel vast and light, as if she was a breeze moving through, so I established that sky first. This gave me the chance to respond to Fox in relationship to Sky, and inherently also brought a lightness to the flowers that ultimately came on board. Just  reach out . In the midwest (which is where I live), right before the trees come to life in the spring their tops sport a vibrant green foam. The promise of leaves, not even fully formed, boldly stamp their color across the barren canopy. It’s a fleeting moment but a pivotal one that foretells a shifting palette and warmer days. It culminates in a big exhalation for those like myself who are exhausted from the winter gloom. So that’s what was on my mind with Photosynthesis - the arrival new growth. That along with a curiousity as to how a fox carved out by a tree shape might look (which was the next natural thing to ask after I did  one shaped by florals ).
