She started out about a year ago I think, and I dumped all sorts of personal symbols in - bits and pieces of a favorite rosebush, the dark horse I dream of regularly, swathes of sky. My new painting A Thousand Pieces will grace the walls alongside a discerning selection of original art from Michigan artists residing in the Thumb. This is a prestigious show with a 60+ year history of showcasing Michigan talent. The reception is an all ages event, free to the public. The exhibition will be on display through September 26th. Questions? just  reach out .   This painting is another demo, or trial run per se, of the exercises I've assembled for my next  in person workshop.  The results I am getting from these trial runs are so exciting - and I am all the more pumped to get to share them with students. This one was also influenced by childhood memories of my own hidey spots and playing hide and seek, too, with my kids. It's a milestone to have a small business for this long, even more so that very few artists are able to make a living from their work. It is such an honor to reach this milestone and I have heaps of gratitude for everyone who has made this happen. I feel like I am just getting started, too - there's so much more for me to paint still!
