NEW PAINTING Past, Present, Future

"Past, Present and Future," 24x30, acrylics on panel, $899 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. Please take note that there will be a delay of several weeks with respect to shipping her out. I accept paypal, personal checks, and payment plans, and collectors always receive a 10% discount. Inquiries may come to me.

Birds have been showing up in my dreams lately, mass numbers of them in my yard (and not the migratory kind), and I'm finding feathers everywhere. With my kids off adulting on their own, we are hearing the phrase "empty nest" quite a bit, along with "flew the coop" and all sorts of other flying references to them out in the world. So I suppose it was just a matter of time before birds ended up on my easel.

For those of you who follow me on FB, too, do you recognize the pink dahlia that I've been tracking this last month? My first one grown from scratch (although she was gifted to me, and I didn't literally do that starting part myself), she's covered with glorious 6-8" blooms. I plan to include her in future paintings, too, but this was the first of many.

I have always wanted to grow dahlias, and now I have a sunny yard to do so. Lucky me!

Thanks, as always, for following along on my painting journey,

Be well,
Fondly, Kim

Brave means, in every uncertain moment, turning inward, feeling for the Knowing, and speaking it out loud. If you are uncomfortable—in deep pain, angry, yearning, confused—you don't have a problem, you have a life." Glennon Doyle Has anyone else been reading - and re-reading - their copy of   Untamed ? (and if you haven't read it yet, who's keeping you from doing so?!) Glennon talks about women as cheetahs regularly, and it's a visual I lean on when I'm feeling a little wobbly. I am a cheetah. Cheetahs don't wobble, they look things directly in the eye.  So when c

It was a fabulous chance for us to learn about all the little details of this new property and get to know the couple who had lived here. While My Better Half was off learning about the sprinkler systems and the furnace, I got a tour of the property, the plantings and an introduction to the "neighbors." There's the 7 deer who bed down in the tree circle, Lucy the possum who does the walk of shame each morning when she returns home after a wild night on the town, James the groundhog, who has both a summer home and a winter den. Agatha the bat and the Chi

I need to learn more about the Inuit community and their ties to these bears - someone told me that it's rather mystical. I'd like to understand it better myself - and perhaps that will make me a better painter, too, of these delightfully engaging animals. Also, Friday (only two more wakeups!!), at 10am eastern, I will be doing a live painting demo in   my online classroom . I will have multiple cameras set up (both my easel and palette/work surface), giving each student a front row seat from the comfort of their own home, as I share - with real time q&a - how I respond to my world and turn
