Buddy

"Buddy," 8" x 10", commissioned dog portrait, done in acrylics on a museum quality panel. Buddy's painting has a home (THANK YOU!), and in process pics are on the  studio's Facebook page .   So, like, this is one of my all time favorite pieces to come off my easel.    I'm feeling rather pleased with myself right now.    Fondly, Kim, who's head might have grown a couple sizes this afternoon ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Come and Get Me!!

"Come and Get Me (Murphy)," 8" square, acrylic on canvasboard, pet portrait of a newly rescued Bichon Frise, not available for purchase. Inquiries (including booking your own pet portrait, from miniature size [4" x 4"] to larger than life) may always come to me . Murphy's girl has always gone above and beyond when it comes to The Princess (my daughter), so this morning (while pet sitting), The Princess and I staged an impromptu photo shoot. This painting will be a surprise welcome home, after they are able to navigate past Murphy's fabulously wonderful fringe of a tail. Thanks, as always, for looking at - and sharing - my artwork with your friends and family. “Lip Smackin’ (Murphy),” 4” x 5”, bichon mix pet portrait in acrylic on canvasboard, $50. Inquiries to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com . SOLD. Yesterday I said today’s piece would be a commission, and in a sense it is. However, my client, who’s sent in multiple candidates for the dog-a-day project, has asked if she could reserve her “first dibs” until all 4 were completed (Monday’s “Cookie in the Snow” is part of the package). It seemed like a reasonable request to me. But I’m not certain how to handle the logistics, being as I am committed to posting daily, and it’s not fair to post something as available for purchase when it maybe isn’t. So I’ll start a wait list for anyone interested in “Lip Smackin’” or “Cookie in the Snow,” (along with tomorrow and Friday’s paintings) and I’ll let you know by Saturday whether any of these little guys will be coming to live at your house!! Thanks, as always, for looking, And for sharing these paintings with your friends and family, Kim Kimberly Ke...
I get many requests for donations, and I have always wanted to be able to agree to all of them. But in the past, donating a pet portrait meant committing several weeks to a month of my productivity, and I had to place serious limitations on my donations. My heart always said yes, but my head had to say no most of the time. That’s still the situation – however, with the dog-a-day project, I’ve been able to say yes a bit more often. I still choose my affiliations carefully, limiting them to organizations I have had a personal connection with. There’s no better feeling than knowing I’m helping out in some small way. This particular painting came about from a gift certificate donated to the Boys & Girls Club. My boys have enjoyed their club membership for years, and when I was approached about helping with their annual fundraiser, I was delighted that this time I could say “yes!” So here is Maddie, a 6” square of poufy fur, bright eyes and a big ole happy grin. Loose brushwork everywhe...
