It's rarely difficult for me to title my paintings, particularly when I'm working with in a series. I think I'm at least 10 pieces (2 months) into the rabbits, and I'm still not entirely sure what these paintings are about. So I asked my Oracle Cards the other night what the rabbits meant. I pulled The Ancient Ones card, representing shamans of old who defeated death and escaped time. The Ancient Ones counsel and invite us to reach to the future and birth a new destiny. How's that for some mid-pandemic direction? Rather fitting, isn't it? I didn't have much of a painting mojo this aft...

All We Ever Dreamed We Had (Medicine Hat #9)

Detail of "All We Ever Dreamed We Had (Medicine Hat #9)," 16" x 16" x 2", acrylics on archival cradeled panel, image painted around the sides so no need to frame. $699 plus s&h to the first one asking nicely. Inquire directly   to me   - I take personal checks, paypal, venmo and will arrange payment plans. This is a tough one to photograph, as she changes dramatically as you walk past. There is lots of layering and reflection and refraction that happens inside the paint layers. For instance, the majority of the white you see in this photo is translucent pearl, and only visible when you are on the opposite side of the light source.   Here is a little video   to provide a better idea of how things shift. This painting is one of my favorites of all time. I'm just going to sit here and look at her all night long. Thanks for following along with my painting journey, Kim

Your Tears Have Been Worthwhile

"Your Tears Have Been Worthwhile (Medicine Hat #8)," 20" x 30", acrylics on gallery stretched canvas, $1299 plus s&h to the first one asking nicely. Inquire directly   to me   - I take personal checks, paypal, venmo and will arrange payment plans. I see you. Love, Kim

The Truth (Finished)

FINISHED! "The Truth," an Echo painting, 24" x 30", acrylics on panel. $899 plus s&h when finished. Reach out to   me   if you are interested. I accept personal checks, paypal, venmo and payment plans. I got a full day in the studio, complete with loud music and very few interruptions, which is how I prefer to work (but that doesn't mean I always get what I want). And magic happened. I started laying marks down, and the painting pretty much told me what to do. The thing I'm most pleased with is her eye - it is SO alive and SO calm - and the little reflective bits of truth that glimmer about her profile ( best seen here, in a detail shot) . Here's a video short outlining the painting's progress . Thanks for following along with my art journey, Kim

The Truth (in process)

In process, "The Truth," 24" x 30", acrylics on panel. $899 plus s&h when finished. Reach out to me if you are interested. I accept personal checks, paypal, venmo and payment plans. I am back in the saddle today, continuing with the Medicine Hat paintings as I explore my lifelong connection with horses. This is today's stopping point, and you can see my chalk lines overtop the paint. I do this to ascertain necessary shifts needed to properly build the form of the horse - the chalk will wipe right off, and I can continue on my way. There are a few things I need to adjust - tomorrow! I've chosen a title for this series - "Echo." I'm painting memories, traces and ideas that may have been my own or could have been transplanted from someone else. The root cause doesn't matter, because ultimately these are a reflection of the human experience, a reverberation of sorts. And now I'm off to let paint dry. Thanks for followin...

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

"Roses are Red, Violets are Blue (Medicine Hat #4)," 18" x 24", acrylics on panel. $699 plus s&h. I accept personal checks, paypal, venmo and payment plans. Inquiries can always come to me. Horses (to me) are akin to a holy spirit. They wrap me in an earthy, quiet calm that melts worries away. Time in a horse's company is healing and blessed. There is a magic about the gift of breathing in their scent, warming one's fingers underneath a mane, and looking into that eye which seemingly knows all. They can cure any ailment that weighs upon one's heart. At least in my rainbow and glitter filled world, they can. Warmly, Kim

Not Content With Discontent

"Not Content With Discontent," 18" x 24", acrylics on panel, $699 plus s&h to the first one asking nicely. Inquiries can come to   me . This painting is for my fellow American's who voted this past week. And for all those beyond our borders, who watched and waited and maybe even held their breath a bit. And might I also add that foreshortening is very, very difficult. Thanks, as always, for humoring me. Warmly, Kim

I'm Figuring Things Out

(2) in process Siren paintings, each 24" x 48", acrylics on panel Inquiries may come   to me . I'm figuring things out through all sorts of trial and error. My figures must be rooted in the atmosphere of their painting(s). Their movement and gesture are key. Color harmony is all the more elemental given the simplified compositions. Drawn line vs modeled form fascinates me (via the computer you cannot see the delicate drawings woven into the layers of paint). The vertical format highlights the power and strength of these figures. I absolutely love my job.
