Fire Agate, a new Fire Horse painting

check her out, make her yours 16x20, acrylic on panel, $1150 to the first asking nicely. This price includes s&h inside the contiguous US. Hawaiian, Alaskan and Canadian shipping available at additional cost. Fire Agate can ship at the end of March 2026. I am continuing to work with Fire Horse as muse. I have seen plenty of imagery from others of horses running against flame backgrounds - however, I’m seeking a design that feels a little more unexpected and mysterious, totally in keeping with my Must Haves (a list of qualities I am drawn to in art). Like this lovely, carrying snippets of night sky filled with whorls of agate bearing eyes of glowing embers. Agate is a powerful grounding stone. The perfect accompaniment to Horse, the balancer of inner emotion and conscious actions. Throw in the transformation of a Fire Year and the energy rolls off this one in waves. The link above will take you to my website for a secure transaction, along with viewing in a room or right up close. P...

Blue Skies and Sunshine

Blue Skies and Sunshine   Blue Skies and Sunshine, commissioned acrylic painting on 30”x40” cradled wood panel, private collection (thank you!).  I don’t do many commissions anymore. I got painfully burned out  from over a decade of daily pet portraits   (www.PaintingaDogaDay.com) , but also because I am now a Disrupted Realism artist creating fractured, expressive work which doesn’t lend itself to preserving a likeness in the way most think of portraiture. So when my newest collector approached me in late March about a portrait of her horse, I steeled myself to say no. I read her proposal, and despite not having a blessed idea about how I might paint him, I had a full body response to the project.  She, in turn, granted me full artistic license. I could paint Larry however he showed up. So I got my brushes readied. Bless her heart - collecting photos was an emotional and practical challenge, given Larry had recently passed away quite unexpectedly. But sh...

Stratosphere

Stratosphere view or purchase her on my website   Stratosphere, original acrylic on flat panel (requires framing without glass), 16”x20”, $850 plus s&h. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . Last week I mentioned the phrase “the sky is falling” had been running through my head. Ok, it actually might have been a primal scream from an unidentified internal voice, but that’s kinda the same thing, right? So I have been playing with the idea - what does a falling sky look like - and exploring the visuals on a variety of surfaces. Mylar, duralar, waxed paper, my sketchbook, smaller studies. And this gem sort of fell off my brushes along the way. You can get a better look at Stratosphere  on my website . You’ll find links to zoom in close to her surface or view in a room setting. Purchasing is simple - add her to your cart, checkout and boom, she’s all yours! Let me know  if you would like a payment plan (30% non...

Or nearly - there is a crispness to the air that doesn't quite sing "spring" yet, but bulbs are popping and things are greening up here in Michigan. Vigil speaks to this pause between the breaths of Winter and Spring, promise and hope to come while rooted in a dark, cold night. Vigil could be yours. Here is  the link  to view her larger, peek at her in a room, or purchase. And for those interested,   here is a link   to today's Watching Paint Dry session where I walk you through my painting process. The next Watching Paint Dry will fall on April 5th at 7pm. NEW PAINTING Daybreak

Daybreak, 24"x24", acrylic on a flat panel, $1200 plus s&h   to the first asking nicely . Questions can always come   to me. Morning has broken like the first morning Borrowed from the great  Cat Stevens . Perhaps I should have named her Eden. Or "The First Morning." Actually, maybe those are titles for the next one. Here is the link for  Daybreak Thanks so much for your interest in my artwork, All my best, warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Sylvan

Sylvan, 15"x30"x1", acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas with image painted around the sides, private collection (thank you so very much and congratulations to my newest collector). Prints of Sylvan can be ordered  here .   Inquiries are always welcome .  Sylvan, when used as an adjective, means a pastural woodland.  When used as a noun it means a spirit of the woods. Seemed the perfect title for this painting. I thoroughly enjoyed building up the layers of greens on this one. Green used to be my kryptonite. Not so much anymore, although it still can be quite problematic. Thanks so much for following along with - and supporting - my art journey, warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Nebula

"Nebula," 24"x36"x1-1/2", acrylic on cradled panel, private collection.  Reach out to me   for further details. she reminds me of the deep nighttime and stargazing and whipped cream light leaking from celestial bodies. There's crickets, the quiet hush of owl wings, distant calls of coyotes. This piece evokes all the stillness and mystery of the quiet hours and the vastness of our skies. Thank you so much to my newest collector - Nebula will bring such a beautiful grace to your home away from the barn. And that means that prints are available. You can browse   my shop of reproductions   or   order your copy of Nebula directly . Thanks so much for following along with - and supporting - my art journey, warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Ether

"Ether," 24" in diameter, acrylic on cradled panel, $1800 plus s&h when available.   Reach out to me   if you are interested and I can add you to my First Dibs Collector's Club. First Dibbers get advance access to new work like Ether, before she is offered publicly. I currently have 6 paintings in the First Dibs space.....  she took me for a ride, this one   as a painting that pushes the boundaries should. I try to do something new with each piece - I call these explorations my "what ifs" - and there were a number of them in Ether that sounded fantastic to ask, but were bears to resolve. Like what if the dandelion flowers and leaves were of differing scale? and what if I allowed the pencil lines to become as prominent as the brushwork. And what if I push the idea of an equine shape into nothingness (like air) - how far can I go without losing the sense that she is a horse? What ifs are a key component of my teaching style. I encourage m...

NEW PAINTING Smoke

"Smoke," 24" in diameter x 1"deep, acrylic on cradled wood panel. Smoke will be $1800 plus s&h when available.   Reach out to me   if you are interested, as I am in the process of putting together a special first dibs program for my collectors both old and new. where there's smoke, there's fire and this mare has a fire in her heart. I am thinking about the edges of ambiguity or opposing ideas. For instance today is summer solstice, a definitive line between how we measure our daylight hours. But what about those things that don't have such obvious stopping points, like summer into fall? or stillness into a gentle breeze? or smoke vs fire? where are those edges, and what do they look like? and then, once I figure that part out, how can I paint them? Thanks so much for your interest in my artwork - and for supporting me in my journey, warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING The Edge of Night

"The Edge of Night," 24"x36"x1-1/2"", acrylic mixed media on deep cradled panel. Night will be $2000 plus s&h when available. But you need a little patience, as she's a candidate for a juried exhibition. If you can't stand the wait,  message me  and I'll get those results to you as soon as I have them myself. intuition is a huge part of my process. It's a weird thing to explain, how I bring a painting to life. An idea shows up and I invite her to the easel. Sometimes her visit is quick. Other times she can overstay her welcome - I think these are the ideas that show up before I have the skills to bring do them justice. Such was the case with Night - this painting literally took years to finish. I would carry her to a certain point, then realize I was lost, so she'd get set aside until I knew what was to come next.  That knowing is a strange thing - it's the sort of knowing one has in a dream state. You can't touch the sour...

NEW PAINTING Elder

"Elder," 15"x30", acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, with the image painted around the sides, so no need to frame. This painting may be offered at a future date with a small collection of similar pieces.  Reach out   with any questions and thanks so much for your interest in my artwork. I have always been enamored with sky holes. You know, the little peeks of light that break into a tree's shape? Well after the last few paintings where I totally and completely lost myself in the making of the trees, I began to wonder if my love for sky holes was actually a love for the trees, the shapes that embraced and made the sky holes. The tree has to convincingly play supporting actor in order for those sky holes to shine. Thanks for taking the time to look at my work, With peace, Kim
