Similar to the painting I did in homage for those killed in Nice, France titled " Camargue Peace ," the flowers here have particular meaning and were chosen specifically to honor those touched by the recent bloodshed in Rouen, France . I can't change the ugliness in the world, but I can counter it with beauty and love. I've been working on her for about a week, getting things all drippy and luscious, then setting her aside to dry while I picked up another piece. I am in love with Frida, both the prairie dog and the painter. She is going to make someone's home pretty crazy fun - although I imagine she's much tamer than the artist Frida ever was!!
