Paintings With Soul

Since October 2006 I've been a daily painter, creating a new pet portrait at least 5 times per week. Over the years I've expanded my offerings to include a variety of animals, pets, race horses, children and other treasured heirlooms. In addition, I accept a limited number of commissions each year.

In 2015 I am honored to be the Kentucky Derby Artist.

You may use the links below right to receive my daily paintings via email or to follow my blog with a feed. I post additional info, including in-process jpgs and other related information, on the studio Facebook page as well.

Meanwhile, thanks
so much for your continued support of my artwork.

Not Content With Discontent

"Not Content With Discontent," 18" x 24", acrylics on panel, $699 plus s&h to the first one asking nicely. Inquiries can come to me.

This painting is for my fellow American's who voted this past week. And for all those beyond our borders, who watched and waited and maybe even held their breath a bit.

And might I also add that foreshortening is very, very difficult.

Thanks, as always, for humoring me.
Warmly, Kim

A New Book!

I have been working - mostly quietly, but most definitely diligently - on a new book. I wanted to take the Sirens, all their nuance that doesn't transfer via screens, and place them in readers' hands. The design had to foster introspection, conversation and personal discovery. As I laid the pages out and refined my vision, this book also became a vehicle for marrying the paintings with my passion for art journaling.

I couldn't be prouder to announce the publication of "Reflections, a Personal Melody." This book features over a dozen of my favorite siren paintings; in process imagery, details, and other snippets of the series which pretty much ruled my world this last year. The design is simple, with the idea that readers can soak up the message of a single painting, or embellish the pages with their own words or artwork as they see fit, working in direct response to the paintings. In addition to this publication, which arrives in time for holiday gift giving, readers can choose to enroll in an online journaling session structured specifically for this book.

The book is available as a print on demand title through Blurb. You can preview pages and purchase directly here. Also, please plan ahead - allow at least 2 weeks for the printing and shipment of your purchase.

The Reflections Online Journaling session will begin January 2019 and include a dozen video and pdf lessons, along with a private classroom space for continued learning. Certificates for class enrollment will be available for those wishing to gift the experience. Additional information will be forthcoming.

Many thanks to those of you who follow along with my artist journey, whether it's by reading my posts, commenting on social media, taking a class with me or welcoming my work into your home in some capacity. I am very grateful for you.
Warmly, Kim

PS I have written other books as well - you are invited to take a peek at them here.

The Strength of Her Convictions

"The Strength of Her Convictions," 15" x 30" x 1" gallery wrap canvas, $799 plus s&h. I accept personal checks, credits cards through Paypal, and welcome payment installations. I also ship worldwide. Inquiries may come to me.

SOLD (TY CM)

This painting is about my daughter, also known as The Princess. Inspired by her resolve and integrity, I started it over the weekend. As the piece revealed itself to me, I recognized it also made for a universal statement about standing one's ground or speaking out. Which is poignantly clear today, Election Day in America. Also the same day I signed the painting and called her finished.

Your voice matters. If you can vote, please do.
And if you have a Princess (or Prince) of your own, please hug them.
Warmly, Kim
