When The Caped Crusader's lacrosse game was called due to the weather and The Princess's dance cancelled because of a power outage at the studio, I found myself with an unexpected few hours at the easel yesterday afternoon. Carbon, 9" x 12", acrylics on museum quality panel depicting a black rabbit. This painting is reserved for an exhibition and will be available for purchase in the future. SOLD (thank you!) This painting was created with a severely limited palette - carbon black, pthalo blue green, titanium white, cadmium yellow medium, and cadmium red medium. At the last minute, I also added touches of light magenta and light ultraviolet.  I've been exploring my idea of dark and light, with my requisite splash of color, for the last few months. Clinker was one of the 20 illegally copied images of my paintings I discovered on ebay yesterday, thanks to a heads up from a colleague and friend who found the same "Artist" copying her work and that of other daily painters. Ebay has been notified and is taking appropriate action. I suspect Karma will be making a house call shortly as well. In the light of yesterday's situation , I got many emails and messages asking how one learns of copyright violations. Here are a couple suggestions: Become a watchdog on the sites you frequent. Don't hesitate to let the originating artist know if you see a copy of their work elsewhere - send them the webaddress and suspected infringer's name. If you come across copies in person, collect the infringer's name and contact information along with the painting's title and pass that along to the originating artist. Set up google alerts for keywords pertaining to your own work, like your name, your st...

Inquiries may come to me . And in process images of Clinker's portrait are here . SOLD (thank you!) Baby Clinker was found with her sister and an older male rabbit in my friend's woodpile. Clinker was healthy, but little Stormy was riddled with bot larva and the adult rabbit had a BB in his jaw, making it impossible for him to eat. They now have quite the extended family and a happy home to enjoy. In honor of their happily-ever-after, I will donate $100 from the sale of Clinker's portrait to the Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary - a Michigan rescue group that does fabulous things for bunnies in need.
