NEW PAINTING Sunrise

"Sunrise," 18"x24", acrylics and graphite on stonehenge paper, $599 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. This piece will need to be framed and set behind glass by the buyer. I accept Paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Purchase inquiries can always come   to me . I've been doing a lot of experimental things in the studio lately, but today I wanted to feel a bit more accomplished. So I set out to finish something that had been started a bit ago. This was the initial study for the   larger 36" x 48" jackrabbit painting   I have in process, but as I worked on her today, she took on a life of her own. She's rather hopeful, just like the promise of a new day. Thanks for following along with my painting journey, Kim

NEW PAINTING Tidal (Daydream 42)

"Tidal (Daydream 42)," 36" x 48" x 2", acrylics, graphite and canvas collaged on gallery wrap canvas, no need to frame. $2799 plus s&h. Returning collectors receive 10% off. I accept paypel, venmo and payment plans. Inquiries may always come  to me . I believe this is an important painting (from my body of work to date). She's been done for a couple weeks, and I still feel that way, which doesn't always happen after the adrenaline rush of signing a piece. There's something here I can't quite define - or maybe I simply can't see it yet, but most definitely can feel it - persistence, honesty, faith? Thanks, as always, for following along with my artwork journey, Warmly, Kim

Tulip Bowl

"Tulip Bowl," 24" x 30" acrylics on panel, featuring violet tulips in a goldfish bowl. Another piece created for licensing consideration, this one is available to the  first asking nicely  for $899, with one contingency. IF Tulip Bowl makes the licensing cut, I'll ship the artwork to my agency for a high resolution scan, after which the painting can be shipped to a new home. The scanning process should be completed by the end of March. Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim

Valentine Tulips

"Valentine Tulips," (2) 16" x 20" acrylics on panel, that when assembled create one 32" x 20" image. This Valentine bouquet will never wilt, and is available to the  first to ask nicely  for a very affordable $399 (plus $20 s&h). Tell someone you love them today. And then tell yourself the same thing! Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Seeking Faith

Another one from The Dryad Series, "Seeking Faith," a portrait of my daughter, 24" x 30", acrylics on panel, not currently for sale (this one is headed to an exhibition). However, inquiries may come to me . I could tell you that the inspiration for this painting came after a heart to heart talk with Annie about the election and believing in a system that has carried our country through centuries, yet has disappointed so many. But I can't lie to you. The real story is that I had the concept of a figure looking upwards and off to the side, with a sweeping drapery of blooms. I had literally (and I am using that word properly, trust me!) 60 seconds to capitalize on the natural light and take the inspiration photos before she ducked into ballet class. (All the flowers symbolically speak towards seeking affirmation, love, acceptance, remembrance and honesty. Or you could just say that they are super pretty, and enjoy them for that. Also, she re...

Snowshoe

"Snowshoe," from the Florus Animalum series, a companion piece to last week's "Snowdrop," 24" x 30", acrylics on panel, depicting a snowshoe hare and a crown of similarly colored florals. A commentary on global warming. And a beautiful example of white not being white. Another piece that just can't be fully appreciated on the computer screen - it will delight the lucky collector who speaks up first. "Snowshoe" is $699 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. Inquiries may come to me . And yes, I can give preferential pricing to the collector who wants both Snowshoe and Snowdrop. Payment plans welcome. Pretty in Pink

"Pretty in Pink," 16" x 20" x 1", acrylic painting with the image wrapped around the edges (so no need to frame), May's entry for my year of selfies (self portraits). And yet, despite those eyes being quite familiar to me, I feel like this painting in particular is a timeless study in finding oneself. So I've decided to let her go - she can be yours for $1699, including complimentary shipping and handling inside the US. Inquiries may come to me . I'm leaving tomorrow to teach in Tulsa. You can bet I'll remind my students about the practice of self portraiture - there's so many ways to bend the rules, what we create does not have to be daVinci-esque. But first, I'm going to hang Pink above my desk and enjoy her until she finds a new home. Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

The Tulip Princess

ABOVE, detail of "The Tulip Princess," 24" x 36", from "The Dryad Series," acrylics on gallery stretched canvas, depicting a figure emerging from a tulip garden. BELOW, the full painting. Inquiries may come  to me . I've got 3 more large figurative works in process. I'm experimenting with different sorts of underpaintings, comparing various drawing tools, and building a jungle of growth on canvas. I can't get into the studio quickly enough in the morning, and I fall asleep painting in my head. I'm so very lucky! Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Brontosaurus Pinkus

"Rare Sighting of Brontosaurus Pinkus, Thought Extinct," 16" x 20", acrylics and mixed media on canvasboard, depicting an arrangement of roses which have lured the elusive Brontosaurus Pinkus from hiding. This remarkable moment is now preserved forever, and it can be yours for $449 (with complimentary s&h inside the US) to the first asking nicely . I've been so engrossed in arranging, painting, and rearranging flowers the past couple weeks that I've completely missed out on paying attention to the wildlife they are attracting. The studio habitat is a wonderful space! Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Two Generations

Both very much in process, above an untitled (and larger than life) portrait of The Princess, 36" x 48" (gallery stretched canvas), and below, a life sized self portrait, 18" x 24" (panel). Multi media paintings, my own personal collection. While cleaning out the fish bowl yesterday, I realized that it would make a great vase (started one of those too, with goldfish in the bowl and swimming amongst the roses!), and then began thinking of other non-traditional containers for flowers. That was when my head exploded, which I tried to paint. And I was up most of the night working on it. Then I made Anna my next victim. I have mostly thought of painting florals the last couple weeks. I cannot turn my brain off - it is constantly going, even when I'm not at my easel. I'm really going to have to reel things in soon and paint a couple of dogs!! Meanwhile, the pieces are piling up from the online class I'm taking - I need a bigg...
