Precocious

"Precocious," 9" x 12", portrait of a stinking cute German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, acrylics on museum quality panel, available to the first asking nicely for $549.   Ask nicely by  emailing me !   In process pics are  here .   And if this little guy doesn't find a home soon, I'll send him off to a local exhibition. Because while I love shipping and sharing my art around the country, I also think it's important to support art groups close to my own stomping grounds.   And now I'm off to teach tonite's grownUPs Journaling class, where will will be using lyrics as a starting point to create collages. $20 says I come home with glue in my hair.   Thanks so much for following along with my artwork! Paperwork

"Drip Dry," 9" x 12", painting of a German Shorthaired Pointer, done in Golden Open Acrylics on an Ampersand Gessobord, from September 2010's Painting a Dog a Day project. Been doing paperwork all morning - paying bills, projecting operating expenses for the new year, planning marketing campaigns, and archiving computer files. It's becoming obvious that I won't have time to paint today - between a PTA meeting, basketball carpool, two music lessons, and a drumline carpool - my afternoon and evening is pretty well already consumed. Meanwhile I thought I'd at least share a few images with you, paintings I'm considering sending out into the world of juried exhibitions. I'll let you know which ones end up going where, but meanwhile enjoy the eyecandy! Oh, and if you haven't already visited the Canine Art Guild's new online exhibition , please do. This one features all shelter and rescue dogs with cash prizes going to the shelters aff...

Duggan

"Duggan," approximately 6-1/2" x 16", portrait of a German Shorthaired Pointer, completed in Golden Open Acrylics on Raymar panel. Ok, I'm drawing a total blank on how to stitch the stupid multiple scans of Duggan together, but I am hoping that you can figure it out. There is no harsh line in the midst of her silly chest - it is merely my inadequate computer skills, highlighted for the entire world to enjoy. Laugh it up while you can. I'll be losing sleep over this darned detail. But thank you for enjoying her. She is awfully cute, isn't she? And hurray up to go bid on " The Sound of Souls " before it's gone. Auction ending very soon. Thank YOU - > Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Drip Dry

"Drip Dry," 9" x 12", Golden Open acrylics on Ampersand Gessobord, portrait of a German Shorthaired Pointer inspired by yesterday's photo session with Deuce (thank you Deuce!!). I am saving this painting for an exhibition, so it is not yet for sale. However, I always welcome inquiries (including booking your own pet portrait, from miniature size [4" x 4"] to larger than life) - send them directly to me . First off, I must give thanks to friend and fellow canine artist Stacey Jasmin for titling this one. Earlier today I shared a vague description of the painting on my studio's Facebook page , and while there were some most excellent suggestions, "Drip Dry" seemed the best sort of fit for the piece. And if you think this is one of my better paintings (I happen to!), that might be due to the huge dose of inspiration I got earliler when I shared a cup of tea and shop talk during a studio visit with children's author/illustrator/genera...

Deuce

"Deuce," 8" x 10", Golden Open acrylics on Ampersand Gessobord, pet portrait of a German Shorthaired Pointer, private collection. Inquiries (including booking your own pet portrait, from miniature size [4" x 4"] to larger than life) may always come to me . Every year my town elects a new Doggie Mayor. During the course of their term they have serious duties to fulfill like escorting all the parades. And today I had the pleasure of meeting our newest Mayor, Deuce. He did a little duck patrolling down by the park, swam in the creek, and trolled through the woods. Every so often he'd turn and share the goofiest smile with us before he continued checking things out. And like I have for every prior Doggie Mayor, I've painted an official portrait. So, from a casual meeting at Paint Creek earlier today, here is Deuce, all decked out and ready to perform his Mayoral duties. I think his popularity ratings will continue to rise as he does great things for...
