These dream pieces are becoming quite a bit of fun ( here's the last one ). A fusion of the sirens, echos, and my art journaling ventures along with a good dose of drawing from life. NEW PAINTING Cornflower Dream 1

"Cornflower Dream 1," acrylics and mixed media on bristol paper, 14" x 18", $250 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. This painting will need to be framed and set behind glass by the collector. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me   - thank you! At my weekly critique, I got some significant feedback about   The Daydream paintings . To work through some of the comments and resulting ideas, I decided to do smaller daydream type sketches on paper. This gives me the opportunity to pursue a variety of directions in a smaller window of time. You should see the studio - I'm horizontally surface challenged as it is, without adding a dozen drying paintings on paper lying about. And I want to do more - my muse is here, spinning like a dervish - but where to stack these while they are wet? As I study and learn from them, I'll be making the most intriguing sketches available for purchase. I'm imag

NEW PAINTING Daydream #2 (in the clover)

"Daydream #2 (in the clover)," acrylics and mixed media on a 30" x 40" x 1-1/2" gallery wrap canvas, $1999 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me   - thank you! PLEASE NOTE: This painting has been revised and retitled as Daydream 36. The purchase information remains the same. Clover has always been a magical plant for me, particularly the purple ones, which seem to dip and dance and carry on a conversation in the garden. I spent hours as a kid, on my belly, searching for the 4 leaf-ers. As a matter of fact, it remains one of my favorite past times to this day. Grandma Kelly could always find them so easily. Now that I think about it, maybe they found her. Thanks, as always, for following along with my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Daydream #7

"Daydream #7," acrylics with water soluble graphite on gallery wrapped canvas, 15" x 30" x 3/4", $699 to the first one asking nicely. Painting continues around the sides and will be varnished upon receipt. Detail image below. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me   - thank you! There is a delicacy to this painting that I particularly like. It's fragile, just like that dissolving dream upon wakening.  But these tendrils reach and tangle and persevere with a lovely gentleness, and hint deliciously at what was dancing through our mind just a moment earlier...... And the surface just begs to be touched..... see the detail below. Thanks, as always, for following along with my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Daydream #6 (Daisies)

"Daydream #6 (Daisies)," acrylics and watermedia on a 24" x 30" panel, $899. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me   - thank you! This is another Siren turned Daydream - there's something fascinating that happens when one uses a previous painting as a jumping off point for something new directly overtop. Contrary to what some may think, I do not simply coat the previous painting with an even layer of gesso and begin on a clean slate. Instead, I allow what was there before to interact with what reveals itself as the new design builds, responding intuitively (you can't plan this sort of thing!) and all these happy accidents happen. Approximately 1/3 of the surface of this Daydream remains untouched from the previous Siren incarnation. There's an echo of the previous siren figure behind the glazes (lower left), but only if you knew she was there to begin with. And the (mostly green) color from

Studio News, July 2019

Luminary (Medicine Hat #19), 48" x 48" x 2", acrylics on gallery wrapped canvas. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Please   inquire directly to me. Studio Newsletter, July 2019 Despite the hectic onset, summer has settled in rather quietly. There is a relaxed routine at the house, and I've been able to tuck into the studio nearly every day for at least a little bit of work. Painting is my mental health check, and it always makes me feel lighter in spirit when a regular creation schedule gives me the opportunity to process life and world happenings. My work is evolving, which is a natural progression of a regular painting practice. With the studio move back home last fall, I began to look inwards, seeking a deeper understanding of myself. A lifetime co

NEW PAINTING Daydream #5

"Daydream #5," acrylics and watermedia on a 24" x 36" x 1-1/2" cradeled birch panel, image painted around the sides, $1899. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me   - thank you! SOLD (TY) In a previous incarnation, this Daydream was a   Siren  soaring in space, made of roses and leaving a trail of petals. And, even though she's not really visible as such any longer, the echo of her presence makes the piece all the more powerful for me. I see the remnants of her blooms and the fading pathway, and I am reminded of   The Butterfly Effect,   which then begs me to find wings in the composition. I thought about giving the piece a more descriptive title than "Daydream #5," but then I was afraid that would limit others' interpretations. So the above is all you're going to get. Thanks, as always, for following along with my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW COMMISSION Roxy

"Roxy)," 18" x 24" x 1", acrylic on museum quality panel. This is a commissioned portrait done posthumously and is in a private collection (thank you CW!), however I can work similar magic with your pet and your photos. Interested parties may   reach out to me ; commissioned portraiture starts at $499 Thank you so very much for your interest in my work. I worked on Roxy for about a month before delivering her top secret style, for a fabulous reveal. I am particularly grateful, because in this instance, Roxy's portrait is the second piece of mine this family owns. While the circumstances of their return weren't the happiest, they were utterly delighted in the end to have a wonderful touchpoint for their girl. And I was honored to be the artist entrusted to do so. I have a track record of delivering well over 1000 portraits to satisfied customers since 2001. And lucky you - I can squeeze one more project into July if you reach out now; otherwise

NEW PAINTING Aflutter (Daydream #3)

"Aflutter (Daydream #3)," 36" x 48" x 2", acrylic on museum quality panel. Pictured below is a detail of this lovely's face and the inspiration piece behind this painting, "The Rebirth of Wonder." "Aflutter" is best viewed in person, and I am looking to arrange a trip for her to accommodate just that. There is SO much nuance here, and layers upon layers of marks, that one gets entirely lost in the piece (which is perfect for daydreaming, no?). Meanwhile, I've decided to let her fly the nest - "Aflutter" is available. I accept paypal, venmo, personal checks and payment plans. Interested parties may   reach out to me ; she is $2799 plus s&h. Thank you so very much for your interest in my work. Her inspiration, "The Rebirth of Wonder," is a 16" x 20" gallery wrap canvas, $649 plus s&h, if "Aflutter" is a little too big for your wall. P lease inquire directly to me about either pa
