Emerald (aka Emmie)

FINISHED: "Emerald (aka Emmie)," 10" x 24", acrylics on panel. Available to the  first asking nicely , $649 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. Working a little today, taking advantage of an empty house and a quiet snow falling outside. Looking forward to spending the afternoon with a book and a cat on my lap! Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Pinkie, Reworked

FINISHED: "Pinkie," from The Beribboned Series , 12" x 16", acrylics on panel. Available (when finished) to the  first asking nicely , $579 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. Pinkie got a facelift, literally. I put all my references away, including the ribbon setup. I redrew her features from memory, then decided that she needed to be a lighter value than the ribbon. Then I adjusted the bow a bit, too, and tucked her ear behind, so it all perched perfectly on her head. Because I was able to listen to the painting (instead of being married to my references and original concept), Pinkie's portrait turned out far nicer. Minnie Loves Playing Dressup

"Minnie Loves Playing Dressup," (yes, that's a bit of glare on this one as it's a gray day and I'm working under studio lights), 16" x 20" x .75", acrylics on cradeled panel (and painted around the sides, so no need to frame!). $699 for this dear little mouse, including s&h inside the US. Inquiries to me , and thank you so much. Minnie made me laugh all day long. She's got a great sense of humor. She is also done overtop another piece that had lots of texture, which is delightfully showing through. Harlequin patterning and various scratched in lines/patterns. Cheep

ABOVE: "Cheep," a 12" x 9" oval, acrylics on gallery stretched canvas and painted right around that edge (no need to frame!), $249.  BELOW, FROM LEFT: "Chick 1" and "Chick 2", 8" square, acrylics on canvasboard, $75 each. All inquiries may come to me , and thank you so much. NOTE: Chick 1 has sold, thank you. Today's goals included befriending yellow (she can be a miserable wench at times) while learning more about chicks, which, as you know, I am newly obsessed with. These studies aren't as detailed as my other pieces, but they have a certain je ne sais quoi, so I've priced them specially just for you. Catnap

"Catnap," a portrait of studio kitty daVinci, 12" x 12", acrylics on panel. Available to the first daring to invite Vinnie into their home. He's been peeling wallpaper from the walls and taunts the crated puppy ridiculously. Although the painted version should behave far better. $200 will get you a cat. Inquiries to me , and thank you so much. And yes, I am still doing commissioned pet portraits, starting around $300 for a museum quality painting. A portrait is a fabulous way to honor our four legged family members. Reach out if this is something you are considering - I do a couple of them each month. Peep

"Peep," from The Beribboned Series , 16" x 20", acrylics on panel. Available to the  first asking nicely , $649 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. Can you see Peep and Chickie hanging together (pictured below)? Like in a toddler's room, a nursery, a powder room, a bright hallway...... the possibilities are endless. I would love to see them go together, which means special pricing for one lucky collector - $999. We can put a payment plan together, too (that applies to any purchases of original art) - message me if you are interested. Chickie

"Chickie," from The Beribboned Series , 16" x 20", acrylics on panel. Available to the  first asking nicely , $649 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. Nobody paints chicks like Alecia Underhill.  They are BIG and soft and full of yummy color. Here's a little print of one of my favs of hers, Grumpy Chick. I gave my chick a good try, nonetheless, with her blessing. And I had a great time! You can bet there will be more of these.... it IS almost spring, after all! Pinkie, in Process

IN PROCESS: "Pinkie," from The Beribboned Series , 12" x 16", acrylics on panel. Available (when finished) to the  first asking nicely , $579 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. For whatever reason, today was a struggle. We all have days where nothing seems to work out, myself included. But now that I've painted this little mouse, and repainted, and painted again, and yet again, so many times that I've lost count, I can see what my issue is.  So I am ending my day with clarity. And some mac and cheese. Both of them being very good things. If you want something to do, hop on over to my new website and let me know what you think!! I've been picking away at it all week long.
