Peony Diptych

"Peony Diptych," (2) 12" square gallery stretched canvases that overall create a 12" x 24" image.  Done in acrylics and paint pen, featuring one of my favorite flowers, peonies. Available to the  first asking nicely  for $350. I'm planning to study florals a bit more seriously in a series of smaller works. I'm paying greater attention to modeling and composition, among other things. Trying to think about the painting as an abstract object and not as a representation of flowers, if that makes any sense. And if not, that's ok, too, because you can simply enjoy the piece for the floral element! Also, I made a number of new images available for prints and various reproductions - you can see them here . Tulip Bowl

"Tulip Bowl," 24" x 30" acrylics on panel, featuring violet tulips in a goldfish bowl. Another piece created for licensing consideration, this one is available to the  first asking nicely  for $899, with one contingency. IF Tulip Bowl makes the licensing cut, I'll ship the artwork to my agency for a high resolution scan, after which the painting can be shipped to a new home. The scanning process should be completed by the end of March. Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim

Fiestaware

FINISHED: "Fiestaware," 24" x 30" acrylics on panel, featuring a mixed bouquet tucked into a turquoise Fiestaware pitcher. This one is available to the  first asking nicely  for $899, with one contingency. I've been asked by my agent to create a few floral paintings for licensing consideration.  Which means that if she likes "Fiestaware" (or whichever of these floral pieces), I'll ship the artwork to her for a high resolution scan, after which the painting can be shipped to a new home. The scanning process should be completed by the end of March. SOLD (TY!) Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Hyacinths

"Hyacinth," 16" x 20" acrylics on panel, available to the  first asking nicely  for a very affordable $200 (plus $20 s&h). I couldn't resist these bulbs when I grocered this week. They are utterly charming in their little weathered bowl, and they smell so good. Or so I thought, until I moved them into the studio and put the spot light on them. The warmth from the bulb made them smell even better..... if that's possible! Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Pink Peonies

These peonies will bring a bit of spring to you, too - they are available to the  first asking nicely  for a very affordable $200  (SOLD - TY KL) Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Wilbur Embraces His Feminine Side

"Wilbur Embraces His Feminine Side," from The Beribboned Series , 18" x 24", acrylics on panel. Available to the  first asking nicely , $799 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. That skinny bow nestled on top? it reminded me of a spider for some reason, hence the pig's name "Wilbur." Charlotte's Web was a favorite read when I was younger. Brocade

"Brocade," from The Beribboned Series , 16" x 20", acrylics on panel. Available to the  first asking nicely , $649 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. Continuing my obsession with rodents, this guinea pig is pretty proud of her ribboned bonnet. The color in this piece lifts my heart - it's even more glorious in person. Wouldn't she be perfect in a nursery? a little girl's room? a powder room? an office space? I see her happily residing in a room full of laughter and love. Speaking of little girls - I'm ducking out early today - The Princess's competition dance season starts in a couple of hours. I'll be back on Monday with my head full of music, lights, costumes, and the theater of movement. Lucky me!! Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Divine Intervention

"Divine Intervention," a self portrait, 24" x 30", acrylics on panel. Available to the  first asking nicely , $899 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. I've been painting regular selfies for over two years and find it a great practice for examining my emotional state and working through various situations. Today's selfie was begun a few days ago and has been my obsession ever since. My original concept was set aside when I realized the painting (and my subconscious) was asking for something else. Each of the items in the painting were chosen for symbolic reasons. They tell my personal story of this year so far - it is my hope that viewers will weave their own tale from the composition. Violet

"Violet," 18" x 24", acrylics on panel, from the Beribboned series. Available to the  first asking nicely , $799 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. The Princess's gentle lionhead bunny modeled for this painting. Everyone in our family, even the four legged members, has to earn their keep! Eenie, Meenie, Minee, Bow

"Eenie, Meenie, Minie, Bow," roughly 18" x 18", acrylics on panel, from the Beribboned series. Available to the  first asking nicely , $799 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. Special thanks to a super wonderful young lady for sharing pics of her wee one's with me - hope I did them justice Islay!! Thank you also to MR for the best title ever. Also, SUPER excited because The Princess gets to tame and train a mouse in her zoology class this term. Which means OKeefe (the studio hamster) will have a friend!! So happy!! (it doesn't take much to make me happy these days!) Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Leggy (the third time around)

"Leggy," 24" x 36" x 1", acrylics on cradeled panel with painted sides (no need to frame). Available to the  first asking nicely , $1699 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. This particular painting has gone through several incarnations . Each time I tackle her, I bring several months of continued study and learning to the easel. And while I loved the previous versions, I am doing cartwheels over this one. I always say, anything in my home/studio is fair game for a fresh coat of paint! Yes, please share Leggy. Add beauty to the world! Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Proud

"Proud," a Florus Animalum painting , 11" x 14", acrylics on panel. This piece is available for purchase to the  first asking nicely , $599 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. This mare is strong, unapologetic, a force to be reckoned with. The tangle of roses on her back are thorny, yet bountiful with blooms. Read into it what you will, the overall composition is one of sheer delight and glorious color, and this painting will make an exceptional focal point in your space. Yes, please share this image. Our world needs more beauty! Thanks for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Petal

"Petal," a Florus Animalum painting , 12" x 16", acrylics on panel, featuring a tender mouse nestled in an abundance of peonies. This piece is available for purchase to the  first asking nicely , $599 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much. A difference in opinion does not mean one person is better or lesser than another. Nor is one right and the other wrong. Today is a struggle for many Americans who are afraid of the future. Be kind. Be gentle. Listen to hear, really hear their voices. I am seeking understanding of how my country has become so divided. I am scared of what we are doing to each other, not just here in the States, but all over the world.  And in the midst of this turmoil, making art might seem trite. But it is what I do to find my own inner piece. To process events and emotions in a healthy manner. And to give others a small bit of beauty to add to their days. This mouse in this painting is timid. Mice are timid. But,...

Petal, in process

IN PROCESS: "Petal," a Florus Animalum painting , 12" x 16", acrylics on panel, featuring a mouse nestled in an abundance of peonies. This piece is available for purchase to the  first asking nicely , $599 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much! I'm thinking about softness with this one. A slightly out of focus, softly lit tendril of a dream. Thanks, as always, for supporting my art, Warmly, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

January

"January," a Florus Animalum painting , 24" x 20", acrylics on panel, featuring a polar bear crowned with pink peonies and dahlias. This piece is available for purchase to the  first asking nicely , $799 (includes s&h inside the US). Thank you so much! Freezing rain, ice, sleet, puddles of standing water, all overtop an already saturated and frozen yard, gave us an indoor swimming pool in the basement today. After cleaning that mess up and discovering the (previously waterproofed) walls themselves were now oozing water despite the exterior of the house being dry, I needed to lose myself in some pretty color and a fantasy world. The forecast is for rain 4 of the next 8 days. Maybe I should just give in and turn the basement into a koi pond. My Better Half has a plan, though, that doesn't involve fish or fins of any sort. And I see a couple tweaks I want to make to January in the morning. Thanks, as always, for supporting my art, Warm...
