Detail of a larger painting in process, currently untitled, acrylics on gallery wrap canvas. Inquiries may always come to me.
Current events have gutted me. So today I crawled into my proverbial cave, turned my music up loudly, and tried to forget that we live in a world where hate grows invasively. This painting doesn't have a title - yet - but she is going to be special. She will be hopeful, a glorious beacon, filled with the strength we need to combat the divisiveness. And somehow her title will reflect this.
Meanwhile, the voting continues for the Pixels Billboard Contest, which seems very shallow in the whole context of life, but there it is. I have until August 15th to garner 250 likes for my three paintings, and if this happens, they advance to the jurying phase. If you are looking for a simple distraction, PLEASE VOTE FOR MY PAINTINGS by following the links below. Inclusion in this national campaign would be a wonderful boost for my business (which helps pay college tuition for two of my kids!). There are over 800 subscribers here, and I hope if you have read this far, you can spare me a few moments to follow up with a quick vote. You can vote - and share - these links through August 15th. Thank you SO much.
And don't beat yourself up if you need to retreat to a cave, too. Take care of yourself. Put your oxygen mask on first, so that you are able later to help others.
With much warmth and gratitude for each of you,
Kim
