Purple Mountain Majesty and Mirada Fine Art

Purple Mountain Majesty, 48"x60", acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, available July 2024 through Mirada Fine Art in Denver, Colorado. Inquiries may always come to me.

Since March I have painted nearly 48 square yards of canvas, used 2 gallons of gesso, a gallon of isolation coat medium, 1-1/2 gallons of acrylic gel medium, and countless tubes of paint. All for good reason - I am creating a fresh body of work for new gallery representation!

I am delighted to announce I am joining forces with Mirada Fine Art, a contemporary and distinctive gallery in Denver, Colorado. I choose my representation carefully - gallery spaces are an extension of the experience I would provide collectors were they to visit my studio in person. The gallery and I become a team in bringing ideas to life, curating opportunities to view said art, and facilitating acquisitions. Mirada Fine Art will be an utterly fantastic partner and I am thrilled to be one of their artists. Here's a little bit about Mirada:

At Mirada, we believe a gallery should be more than just a building that houses art - no matter how spectacular the art is. That is why we have created an atmosphere worthy of the world-class artists we represent.

Mirada opened in 2009, in the foothills west of Denver and housed in the historic Indian Hills Trading Post. The juxtaposition of contemporary art and a funky old log building definitely created a warm and inviting atmosphere. In 2021, though, we decided that we simply needed more space. At that time, we moved to Denver's LoDo neighborhood and into the historic 'Neef Brothers Building' (a saloon from the late 1800s). We think both buildings embody the wonderful, complicated spirit of the region.

At Mirada, you will experience some of the finest contemporary artwork in the Denver metro area. Most of the artists featured at Mirada can not be found at any other gallery in Colorado. Mirada was named one the of '25 Best Art Galleries in the United States' for three years in a row.  We have also received awards or praise from publications such as LUXE magazine, 5280 Magazine, Westword Newspaper, and many more.

I shipped two pieces to them this morning, a fox and a wolf. Additional work will be delivered in late June. Mirada will have at least a dozen new BIG paintings - each piece is at least 36" in one direction. I have thoroughly enjoyed painting this large again - there's something about a full body gestural brush mark that gives me tingles and fills my cup. It also really suits the convergence in my work of wildlife and landscape in exciting ways.

If you are in the Denver area, stop by Mirada Fine Art and tell them you can't wait to see my new paintings on their walls. And then soak up some of the beauty that is currently on their walls.

And if you are east of the Mississippi, Whiteside Art Gallery in Cashiers, NC is worth a visit. Whtieside and I have been working together since they re-opened  in 2021. They will be receiving new inventory from me later this summer, and currently have a fine selection of rabbit, owl and fox paintings for your consideration.

And of course you can always shop all available paintings (including current gallery inventory) off my website. Mirada's paintings will be added once they have been received and hung on their walls.

Thank you so much for being a part of my artist journey. It is such a pleasure to share accomplishments and dreams with you.
Warmly, Kim

Tabby Kit

"Tabby Kit," 5" x 7", acrylics on a museum quality panel, depicting a tiny little orange striped guy from Morgue File . This painting can be yours for $289, which includes s&h inside the US. And in case you didn't see it, a little doodle of him is also available for sale here . Inquires may come directly to me .  Although it certainly doesn't FEEL like spring here (snow and ice and wind chills, brr!), I can tell that spring is coming. The mercury is rising a wee bit each day and the days are getting longer and brighter. Over the weekend we drove with the moonroof open just to feel the sun's meager and oh-so-very-welcome warmth (although the heat in the car was cranked, too, in the interest of full disclosure!). I wanted to work with spring-like colors today, and this little guy was still on my mind , so I grabbed a small panel and got to work. Of course, I also have Poppy to finish and some changes to make to another po
“Rapt (Shadow),” from the Larger than Life series, 16”x22”, acrylic black lab mixed breed pet portrait on gallery wrapped canvas, $699. Inquiries to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com . SOLD. This is Shadow, who went missing on Sunday night. He belongs to a friend of mine, and has been a fixture in our community for many years. Errant fireworks scared the silly old guy into running off, and his family is busy searching for him. (If you happen to be in the Lake Orion/Oakland County area and have seen Shadow, please call 248-391-0867 or 248-391-6817) I’m confidant that he is safe (somewhere!) and awaiting discovery, but meanwhile, couldn’t help myself from posting his portrait as today’s dog a day painting . He’s constantly on my mind, and probably will remain so, until he finds his way back home. Hug your four legged guys while you can! Thanks, as always, for looking. And for sharing these paintings with friends and family, Kim Kimberly Kelly Santini http://www.turtledovedesigns.com/ dis

NEW! Etsy Store

One of my favorite unsold paintings from 2008, "Lashes & Corkscrews," 5" x 8", acrylic on canvasboard, depicting a tobiano buckskin curly horse, $289. Inquiries to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com (but read further on how you can get a special deal on this painting!). Now it's ridiculously easy to browse my painting archives. All you have to do is visit my Etsy store . Etsy has a Shopping Cart (so you can pile it high with purchases from a variety of artists), is integrated with Paypal (although you may still pay by check if you prefer to), and is terribly simple to navigate. When the week has ended, I will have listed almost 100 of my favorite (UNSOLD!) paintings here, grouped loosely by subject matter. During 2009 I'll update the shop regularly, and add non-Dog-a-Day pieces as a bonus, thus making it easy to search for that perfect gift. Watch my daily postings for announcements, promotions and discount codes. If you do not receive the Dog-a-Day emails (
