She sees the darkness, knows it’s of our own doing, and chooses to sit inside it with us.
There was a crossroads with the recent painting Canis Major where she offered up two possible endings. The one I didn’t choose kept calling to me - I couldn’t walk away without knowing what a darker version of the concept would look like.
Now I know. And one of my takeaways here is what might a more contrasting version of this look like. Guess I’ll have to return to the easel, darn it!
