Welcome to Painting a Dog a Day

Since October 2006 I've been a daily painter, creating a new pet portrait at least 5 times per week. At first the paintings were mostly dogs, but over the years I've allowed a transgression here and there, and expanded my offerings to include a variety of animals and pets. And yes, I accept commissions! Please join the Painting a Dog a Day community - Sign up using the links at the left to receive the dailies via email or follow the blog with a feed. I post additional info, including in-process jpgs and other related information, on the studio Facebook page as well.

The links above will help navigate through workshops, the commission process, and other options.

Thank you
so much for your continued support of my artwork.

Mary Jane

"Mary Jane," 6" square, acrylic on panel, commissioned pet portrait of a mixed breed dog, private collection (THANK YOU!). Inquiries (including booking your own pet portrait, from miniature size [4" x 4"] to larger than life) may always come to me.

Mary Jane is a Catahoula mix from an abusive environment - but she hit the jackpot when my client adopted her. She is a lovely merle, black, gray and tan with white toes, and has made fast friends with her "sister" Savannah (Savannah's portrait is here). It won't be long before MJ's gobbling up all the love and affection she can.

I'm still looking for rescue stories to include with the artwork headed to my solo exhibition at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. If you have one, please send it to me atksantini@turtledovedesigns.com . Thanks in advance!

Thanks, as always, for looking at - and sharing - my artwork and musings with your friends and family.

  3. The cocked head really gives her so much expression. And, as always, GREAT color. I think I need to get you to paint me some paper! Let's consider that for a moment. Hmmmmmmmm
