Yeah, I'm still stuck on candy. Continuing my thoughts from yesterday's museum visit, I wanted to work further with shadows and lighting. The dog portraits I had on my roster simply didn't provide that opportunity. So please allow me this infidelity today, and we'll see what I can come up with tomorrow as restitution.
By the way, I received several emails about painting conversation hearts with specific messages. Ironically, that's what yesterday's unshared paintings were. I'll get them scanned and over to the blog before the end of the weekend.
And just as a heads up (and perhaps because it's starting to sink in and I maybe want to gloat a little), next week I will be on vacation. I am bailing from miserable sub-zero Michigan temps to take a sun-soaked cruise with my hubby. I'll shut email off on Saturday, January 17th, and resume studio operations on Monday, January 26th. I promise to have at least one frou-frou umbrella drink for everyone stranded in a snow drift whilst I tan.
Thanks, as always, for looking at - and sharing - my paintings with your friends and family.
See you tomorrow!
Kim
PS If you are looking for the perfect Valentine's gift and these paintings aren't quite right, please check out yesterday's post, and then my etsy store. I have several heart shaped dog tag paintings, along with some other candy pieces (including LOTS of chocolates!!), listed under "Tags, Toys & Treasures." And through January 31st, 2009, there's a 20% off DOGADAY coupon for Dog-a-Day purchases made through Etsy. If none of those work, consider purchasing a copy of Painting a Dog a Day - the First Year (my book outlining the initial year of daily painting). Shop to your hearts content!!
