Paintings With Soul

Since October 2006 I've been a daily painter, creating a new pet portrait at least 5 times per week. Over the years I've expanded my offerings to include a variety of animals, pets, race horses, children and other treasured heirlooms. In addition, I accept a limited number of commissions each year.

In 2015 I am honored to be the Kentucky Derby Artist.

You may use the links below right to receive my daily paintings via email or to follow my blog with a feed. I post additional info, including in-process jpgs and other related information, on the studio Facebook page as well.

Meanwhile, thanks
so much for your continued support of my artwork.

Lola, Jack Russell Terror

FROM TOP:  "Lola II," 8" square ($349), and "Lola I," 6" x 8" (SOLD). Portraits of a Jack Russell spitfire - err, terrier - done in acrylic on canvasboard. One has already found her home (THANK YOU!). Inquiries to .
Our vacation was beautiful - long and lingering walks, mountains of excellent food, a couple of entertaining books, and hours spent just watching the sky. But now I'm back (freezing my butt off, I might add!) and ready to work on some stellar portraits. I've got a few dear dogs like Lola, as well as a horse booked this week, so stay tuned.
These are the last days for the DOGADAY sale at my etsy shop - 20% off all the Dog-a-Day paintings listed on etsy. The sale lasts through Saturday, January 31st. In addition to the dog, cat and horse pieces, there are a good number of candy paintings available that would make darling Valentines. To find them, take a peek under the "Tags, Toys & Treasures" section (yes, these are Dog-a-Day paintings, too!). (PSST:  there's also new candy paintings that I posted last week - these are viewable on the Dog-a-Day blog - grab them before they disappear!)
I have replenished the studio sugar stash with Hershey's kisses, Dove chocolates, pink lollipops, Oreos and Lindt truffles, and will paint these (and indulge) in the coming days. If there is a particular candy you would like to see, please let me know and I'll squeeze it in before Valentines Day (no pun intended!). Chocolate covered cherries, anyone?!
Thanks, as always, for looking at my paintings, and sharing them with your friends and family.
Be back tomorrow,
