August is here - which means that last month I survived our 22nd wedding anniversary, The Man Child's graduation party, The Caped Crusaders 1st scrimmage (and playing sans ankle screws), my birthday (they are getting more painful by the year), my annual trip to Saratoga, and My Better Half starting a new job (that includes a week of 3rd shift hours - ouch!).
August will be crazy as well - I'm teaching a workshop in Traverse City, attending (GULP) college orientation with The Man Child, kicking off a season of feeding The Caped Crusader's JV football team game nite dinners, taking in a Kid Rock concert, entertaining Elizabeth St Hilaire Nelson for a week, and chaperoning The Princess's dance team trip to Cedar Point.
What's this about summer "vacation"?
To implement this month's desktop calendar, download the file directly from my website. I've set up a couple different ways to do this, either via the photo album or a direct link.
I am by no means an expert on the variety of operating systems, so I highly recommend that if you don't know how to change your desktop wallpaper, don't email me for advice. Instead consult your computer's help files - they will be more concise, more knowledgeable and more responsive than I could ever hope to be.
I've sized this to fit a standard screen height of 768 - I realize there are lots of variables that could impact how the file displays on your screen. Let me know if, once you get the file installed, there are display quality issues (keep in mind, too, that options such as "stretching to fit," "tiling" and "cropping" will impact your display, so check those first!).
Thanks so much for following along!

Dear Copyright Thieves, Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's free for the taking. So let's just stop pretending the internet is a free-for-all. Don't play the card that you didn't know - that's insulting. And don't also tell me that you meant to follow up and get permission but never got a chance to. That's insulting too. And by the way, don't you have a copyright protection notice on your own site? And don't even try and point the finger at a third party who commissioned you to make a copy of my painting - again, an insult - you and I both know the difference between a reference photo and a painting. And don't tell me that I asked for it because I share my artwork on the internet. I share my paintings and ideas and the stories behind them so as to encourage others to pursue their own passions . I do not share so that those lacking integrity and morals can copy and market the images as their own...
