This painting, when finished (Stripey, the foal, needs a bit more work), will be $2999 (with complimentary shipping inside the US). Yes, he can be purchased prior to completion, and yes, I do accept payment plans. Inquiries may come  to me . Did you know that a zebra's stripes are as unique as a fingerprint? Sonny

"Sonny," 12" x 46", acrylics on panel, featuring a Meerkat at attention, with a mess of yellow daisies, $1999 (with complimentary shipping inside the US). Inquiries may come  to me . Funny story about Sonny. I went to Home Depot (with paint in my hair and all over me, because when inspiration hits, who's got time to clean up?), bought an 8 foot long panel, and had them cut it in half. Took both pieces (48" square) out to my car, only to find out that they wouldn't fit. Schlepped both pieces back to the lumber guy and asked him to trim so they would fit. He took a foot off each one. Which left me with 2 tall skinny panels for 2 tall skinny compositions like Sonny's. Now I need to think of another one. Maude

"Maude," 30" x 30" x 1-3/4", acrylics on cradeled panel with the image wrapped around the edges. This painting was a commission, and I cannot wait to see Maude installed in my collector's new kitchen!  Original art is the best way I know to brighten up and personalize any space. I would be happy to paint something custom for your home -please  email me  and we can begin discussing your project. Dandy Lion

"Dandy Lion," 18" x 24", acrylics on panel, $499. I can't stop thinking this is Aslan , which was entirely unintentional, but of course I absolutely LOVE that connection. Rosie, From the Dryad Series

"Rosie" 36" x 48", acrylics on gallery stretched canvas (with the image wrapped and painted around the sides, so no need to frame), depicting a 7 year old Princess crowned with roses, daisies, freesia and bleeding hearts. This piece is $8499 - please  email me  if you are interested in seeing detail shots or have any questions. In process pics are   here. It will be tough to part with Rosie (The Princess actually LIKES this one!), but I have officially run out of room to store and hang any more paintings. Two other big ones are headed out to new homes tonite, but I brought 4 more into the studio today, and am getting a couple more large panels tomorrow. These babies are multiplying like rabbits! Foxglove

"Foxglove" 24" x 48", acrylics on masonite, all lovely and drippy and colorful and thoroughly alive, $999 to the first one asking nicely. Personally, I think my floral pieces are getting better and better, but I may be biased! Please  email me  if you are interested in adding Foxglove to your collection. Detail pics are here . I did not know that foxgloves were also called fairy houses. Guess that's why I love them so very much, because of my affinity for the little people. Foxglove version 2.0 will now have to include a tiny magical creature..... Always new ideas right around the corner! Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

A World Away, in Process

In Process, "A World Away," 24" x 30", acrylics on masonite, not for sale. Inquires may always come to me via  email , though. My daughter dances competitively, and every year they do a production number that features all the dancers on the team and tells a story. And every year I create a painting inspired by their production number, selling reproductions as a fundraiser for the dance studio. This year's number is about a girl's dream, complete with a ringleader, acrobats, cheetahs, butterflies, birds, a wedding, pirates, tribal characters - it's absolutely stunning to watch.  And has been thrilling to paint, too. I still have a ways to go on this one, but I am enjoying every minute! If you are interested in ordering merchandise with this image on it, please shoot me a note , and I'll make certain to send you a direct link when the information becomes available. Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantin

The Tulsa Boys Home

I spent today at The Tulsa Boys' Home, and what an honor it was to get some time with their students and learn more about their program. This is a facility that houses, educates, counsels, mentors, and fiercely loves the wards of the state placed in their care. They also have a substance abuse program. And their equine therapy program is a pioneer model - it partners with other non profit groups, reaching out and working with populations not directly on site. I painted with a group this morning, but clearly, once again, I did more talking I think than active mark making. They were engaging, asked fabulous questions, and quite simply won me over.  My heart hurts for these students, but it also soars, for anything becomes possible with love and respect and patience. Tomorrow I'll be attending their annual fundraiser, The Run for The Roses Gala. Again, such an honor to be donating my time and efforts to a school that is working tremendously hard to make a

Dude

"Dude," 9" x 12", acrylics on museum quality panel, depicting a delightful red and white cow (I am so not an expert on bovines - what breed cow is this?), $469 to the first one asking nicely. This includes s&h to a US address - email me . Today, Tulsa brought yoga with a lovely sunrise, inexplicably perfect macaroons and tea from Paris (in an Oklahoma based bakery), artisanal pizza served with Australian wine, some sort of street fighting that celebrates Cinco de Mayo, the Philbrook Museum (and a long overdue conversation with Bougereau, Sargeant and Henri), a lovely evening with a new friend enjoying her home and her fab art collection, both lunch and dinner al fresco, a gorgeous late afternoon stroll through an equally gorgeous historic neighborhood, loving on some most excellent dogs, a successful couple hours pushing paint, and cementing friendships with a few wonderful artists. In no particular order Have I said lately how much I love Tulsa

Pretty in Pink

"Pretty in Pink," 16" x 20" x 1", acrylic painting with the image wrapped around the edges (so no need to frame), May's entry for my year of selfies (self portraits). And yet, despite those eyes being quite familiar to me, I feel like this painting in particular is a timeless study in finding oneself. So I've decided to let her go - she can be yours for $1699, including complimentary shipping and handling inside the US. Inquiries may come to me . I'm leaving tomorrow to teach in Tulsa. You can bet I'll remind my students about the practice of self portraiture - there's so many ways to bend the rules, what we create does not have to be daVinci-esque. But first, I'm going to hang Pink above my desk and enjoy her until she finds a new home. Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com
