Meet Persephone

  Persephone, 24"x30" original acrylic painting on panel. Available at a future date.  inquire about Persephone Last week I was awakened by the image of a mother bear. She was staring me in the eye, daring me to follow as she turned and disappeared into the darkness behind her. I caught glimpses of sky, little holes punched through the veil she passed through. Her head was full of red and green, which I interpreted as apples on the branches. I'm never sure how much these visions are snapshots of my dreams or amendments of dreams with things extrapolated as I wake up. Regardless, I knew she showed up to be painted. I started two Momma Bear paintings that same day. Eve , yesterday's piece, was the first one. And Persephone, pictured here, the other. I rooted Eve in the Garden of Eden, and Persephone, the goddess of Spring who lives 6 months of the year in Hell, inhabited a space strewn with smoke and flowers.
