I’ve been thinking a lot about how abstract art, or rather art that isn’t strictly representational, is not fully appreciated by the general public. There is   a really interesting discussion   on this over on my FB page.   It is easier to gauge the apparent success of artwork when you can visually measure it’s accuracy. But what happens when you forget about that and instead simply allow yourself to respond emotionally to the art? Representation or logic aside, how does the piece make you feel? and then, from those feelings, what do you begin to see? With that in mind then what does this painting make you feel? and based on that, what narrative can you build? I’d love ...
