Earth and Moon

Earth and Moon view her on my website Earth and Moon, original acrylic on flat panel, 24”x36”, private collection (thank you).   It seems fitting to close 2024 out with a painting that is about vastness. In a year that challenged me as a voracious creative and an often bumbling human, for my muse to then deliver a painting to my easel that reminds me how small I am is comforting. This piece is also about constants, those things we don’t even notice anymore because they always are. It’s a reminder to refocus on my breath and the everyday miracles that surround me. Talk about grounding! You are invited to view Earth and Moon  on my website . Next week I hope to set up prints for the paintings that have sold the last couple months (thank you to my generous and enthusiastic collectors!!). I’ll tuck a notice inside a newsletter once that is done. Meanwhile, wishing all of you a safe and joyous evening. Hoping you find a reset button somewhere in your own lives and we all wak...

NEW PAINTING Fire Water Air Earth

"Fire Water Air Earth," 24"x30", acrylic mixed media on flat panel. She will be available at a future date, alongside her fellow momma bear paintings. I welcome inquiries - they may always come   to me . i've been learning all about clouds and other sorts of sky vocabulary as possible titles for this painting  because at first I thought she was emerging from a dark night. While she may have begun that way, she didn't stay cowed for long. Now she is victoriously ruling over a new dawn. I am exhausted. I have signed 3 emotionally demanding paintings this week, with others in process. Time to rest and savor what next week promises. I have a feeling t'll be more bears. I have plenty of anger and other emotions to work through before they can go. Hug your little - and big - ones, warmly, Kim PS You heard right - there is a pop-up studio sale next week. It'll be on my website, Friday, June 10th at noon, and it will feature rabbit paintings!! Details to c...

Medicine Hat #15

In Process: "Medicine Hat #15," 20" x 30" x 1-1/2", acrylics on gallery wrapped canvas, image painted around the edges. This painting is all about Mary Oliver, as I think how connected she was to the heart of the universe. And it's difficult to properly photo here in the studio, with swaths of metallics reflecting the lights.  Message me   for more details. How lucky am I, to have spent today doing what I love, making beauty, surrounded by my family? I hope that you were able to do the same - spend your day with your own passions and with your loved ones. Thanks, as always, for following along with my art journey,
