This one was also influenced by childhood memories of my own hidey spots and playing hide and seek, too, with my kids. Little toes peeking out from under lumpy blankets and giggles coming from inside closets. Those were some good times. Thanks so much...

How the Light Gets In

How the Light Gets In see the collection   Pictured above, How the Light Gets In, acrylic on panel, 24”x30”, $1300 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. The link above will take you directly to my website where you can make her yours. Questions? Just  reach out . This one is pure magic. She’s a fusion of the landscape centric Talisman (acrylic) paintings and the broken sky oil studies I have been obsessed with the last couple weeks (they have been shared on  FB  and  Insta ). She’s also got bits of my mixed media drawings in her - not literally, but the gems I discovered while making the mixed media drawings (last year) definitely informed her progression. She oozes serenity, which apparently I needed a good dose of, because my entire mood improved once she hit my easel. I’ve defined some takeaways and new what if’s to explore next. Excited to see where she takes me. A full in process lesson will get added to   my Patreon classroom   shortly ...

Yellow (Sky Fox)

Yellow (Sky Fox) view Yellow on my website   Yellow (Sky Fox), original acrylic on flat panel, 18”x24”, $1000 plus s&h. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . Typically I begin by finding the animal and allowing the rest of the painting to show up intuitively. With this one, however, I flipped this approach on her side and laid the sky down to start. I wanted Fox to feel vast and light, as if she was a breeze moving through, so I established that sky first. This gave me the chance to respond to Fox in relationship to Sky, and inherently also brought a lightness to the flowers that ultimately came on board. This process and all the various techniques I employ in my paintings are included in my new online workshop Bloom, available through  Kara Bullock Art School .  Bloom  focuses on weaving Fox and Floral in my distinctive style while also incorporating modules on nuanced color, intuitive painting, and ...

Droplets of Sky

Droplets of Sky view her on my website   Droplets of Sky, original acrylic on flat panel, 16”x20”, $850 plus s&h. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . Inspired by last summer’s trip to Rocky Mountain National Park (shout out to my girlfriend and her hubby for taking us there!), this painting is steeped in the awe of untouched nature. Bucket list item is to return for an artist residency - one day simply wasn’t enough to truly experience all of the inspiration. A shower of sky drops rains from her brow and viewers who  come in real close  are rewarded by a sunrise in Fox’s eye. Because as beautiful as the landscape was, I had to add my own dollop of magic. You can get a better look at Droplets of Sky  on my website . Purchasing is simple - add her to your cart, checkout and boom, she’s all yours!
