Paintings With Soul

  Oil Studies see the collection   Pictured above, an intimately scaled oil study titled Autumn, inspired by the larger acrylic painting of the same name. This is impasto (thickly applied) oil paint on Stonehenge paper, paper sized 9”x12”. Autumn is part of 15 oil studies newly available, all visible through the above link. Questions? Just  reach out . I’ve been making these studies of my acrylic pieces, selections from The Talisman series, using the larger paintings as a launching point for creating something smaller in oils. Some of the studies are very similar to their inspiration piece, some went in a different direction entirely. This has been such a great exercise for so many reasons, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the process and the resulting works. And now it’s time to let them go. This was my spectacular view on Derby day, painted from iPhone photos I snapped.
