NEW PAINTING Embrace the Chaos

"Embrace the Chaos," 16" x 20" x 1/2", acrylics and graphite on gallery wrapped canvas, $649 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me. My online students got an in depth video this morning of this piece's progress. It was particularly interesting, to me at least, given that this painting has had 4 different incarnations since 2017. ("How long does it take you to make a painting?!") This piece traced my evolution from initially exploring the boundaries of my paint and celebrating childhood magic, up to today's expressive response to the world's climate, with a couple stops in between. Additionally, two previous versions have video content (in the same online classroom mentioned earlier) discussing my intents and ideas, all filmed at the time I was actively working on the painting. If you are curious as to how my work evolves and what I am doing to build

NEW PAINTING Perception

"Perception," 12" x 16", acrylics and mixed media on artboard, $499 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me. I am sending this one having just come off of a fantastic critique and mentoring session with   Anne Siems.   She really makes me think hard about the what's and why's of my painting process. And I discover all sorts of gems along the way. I highly recommend working with a mentor - a second point of view, particularly when it comes from a third party with a different perspective and admired approach to creating, is invaluable. Thanks, as always, for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Wings

"Wings," 20" x 24", acrylics and graphite on panel. Inquiries may always come   to me. I have just sent this version off to my collector for final approval. This is the part when I start to second guess things and doubt that I even know what I'm doing, even though, 30 minutes earlier, I was on cloud nine over how this painting had turned out.  I really need to duct tape my inner critic's mouth shut. Thanks, as always, for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Sunspot

"Sunspot," 12" x 18", acrylics and mixed media on paper, $499 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me. I am enjoying these mixed media pieces so much! I also have three commissions ongoing. And a bigger piece for a world-wide project which I can't reveal quite yet. There's lots of paint getting slung about in these parts!  Thanks, as always, for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Fabrication

"Fabrication," 12" x 18", acrylics and mixed media on paper, $499 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me. I'm currently studying pattern with   Ardith Goodwin   via an online workshop. Between her instruction (which is always perfectly engineered for a fully immersive experience) and fellow students' creations/discussions, my brain is exploding with ideas. I have chosen to study the use of stripes and circles in my art, and in the world. You can bet that you will see lots of them in the future, too. In all sorts of varied glory and iterations. Thanks, as always, for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

STUDIO NEWS October 2020

Detail of an in process mixed media piece. This one is 18" x 24", acrylic, collage and colored pencil on paper. Inquiries welcome - you can always  email me directly.   Studio News, October 2020 It's officially fall, at least here in the Midwest. Colors are at their peak, and I'm thoroughly enjoying lots of walks with the dogs. We are clocking miles in under the canopies of glorious color and enjoying the brisker air. Just as we were settling into a new routine, with The Princess studying college remotely and her puppy Bean ( #yourdailybean ) housebroken for the most part, we had to go and mix things up. We bought a new home a little unexpectedly, which meant readying, listing, and then selling this one pronto. We are now in that limbo phase, with two contracts awaiting closing, and planning a move that will fall between Thanksgiving and the New Year. Crazy times for sure - further complicated by the fact that I work from home, so this means also moving my studio, a

IN PROCESS a GIANT project

My studio floor this afternoon, along with 4 in process paintings. The three smaller ones are 12" x 18", the yellowish, larger one is 18" x 24". But these aren't the giant project the subject line of this email refers to. The Giant Project is that the studio is moving in December. And I am so very, very thrilled about it - this new space is bigger than the one I had a couple years back.  Which means that once COVID is through, I will be able to teach again from the comfort of my own space. It also means that I no longer have to contain myself to 120 square feet each day, like I have for the better part of the last 18 years. I do love my current studio and it will be emotional to leave it - I built my business here, started Painting a Dog a Day here, painted my Kentucky Derby official artwork in here, worked at the easel while my kids grew up, literally, around me. But it's time for a new space. I outgrew this years ago, and my basement storage is stretched

NEW PAINTING Threshold

"Threshold", 12" x 18", acrylics, collage and graphite on paper, $499 + s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me . This painting makes me SO happy - she's tying together all sorts of things that I've been studying and thinking about lately. And carrying me perfectly into the next deep dive I'm making into patterning. Thanks, as always, for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Orbit

"Orbit", 12" x 18", acrylics, collage and graphite on paper, $499 + s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me . My brain is tired. The past 5 days have included such a bombardment of critical information, all of which then has to be sifted through to determine actual fact. It was absolute heaven to spend this afternoon unplugged, with my playlist and my palette. And tonite I plan to indulge myself with a good book and a puppy. Hoping you have a ritual to retreat to for peace. Thanks, as always, for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Cosmos

"Cosmos", 12" x 16", acrylics, collage and graphite on artboard, sold while still in process, directly off my easel, and now winging her way home. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come   to me . I am so grateful to have collectors and followers that welcome and embrace my artwork so enthusiastically. Thank you for that! Of the five new works I've created in the past two weeks, three of them have already found new homes.   Harlequin   and   Prescience   remain available - not because they are any less beautiful than the others, but most likely because they were born alongside peaks in this ceaseless storm surge of news here in the US, where the majority of my collectors and followers reside. I have included images of them below, in case, for whatever reason, you missed their original posts. And meanwhile, I have more pieces in process. I share working images on my social media accounts ( Facebook   and   Insta ), and you
