"Macy Lou Hoo Snooze," 6" x 8", done in Golden Open Acrylics on a Raymar panel. Portrait of a mixed breed, snuggly little girl. Macy Lou excelled at sleeping - this is how her Mom remembers her, all snuggley and adorable. Macy Lou crossed the bridge too soon, but she left her mark on quite a few hearts - mine included. I posted in process images of Macy Lou Hoo on the studio Facebook page today. I try to do this a couple times a week, as a supplement to the more in-depth lesson paintings that get chronicled on the blog and in my newsletter. The facebook format also provides you the opportunity to ask questions at each step of the painting's progression, which I think is a useful tool. Hoping everyone has a fabulous weekend! Thanks, as always, for looking at and sharing my paintings with your friends and family, Kim COMING UP ~~ PAINTING WORKSHOP "Mixing Color Not Mud": Saturday, October 8th, at the Orion Art Center in Lake Orion MICHIGAN. Email me to get on the early bird list. |
Thanks to long time Dog a Day collector JW, both of the paintings I highlighted yesterday have a new home. I've got a full load - 9 pet portrait commissions - next week. But I also have a hankering to paint me some more racehorses. We'll see how disciplined I can be!! Meanwhile, if you are interested in booking a special portrait, shoot me an email. I'd love to talk to you about it! |
Un bien malheureux toutou!!!...
ReplyDeleteVotre palette de couleurs me fascine ...
Gros bisous
Thank you so much, Martine! The pink underpainting set a great tone for this painting - I'm going to try it again when I want an ensuing warmth. Happy painting!
