Queen is a lesson painting

....but what does that mean, really?

it means that her creation process was included in a video lesson shared in my online classroom.

In her case I demonstrated how I work though various ideas as the piece progresses.

Curious? want to join us? of course you do, and of course you can!

my online classroom is basically a monthly membership ranging from $15-25 (you could also sign up at $4/month, which buys treats for Blue). Inside the classroom you will find regular content sharing exclusive behind the scenes footage and ramblings about my process and ideation along with structured exercises to help you manage a studio business and find your own style. Lessons come approximately weekly. The initial payment unlocks the previous 12 months of content, and then you are billed the first of the month onwards for however long you wish to stay. Learn more here.

Not a painter but want to support my growth anyways? well thank you sincerely for that - you can sign up for any of the tiers or choose a custom monthly amount that meets your budget. Again, details are here

And if the cost of living increase is tightening your wallet, you can always support me for free by commenting on and sharing my social media posts (I'm on FB and insta - links below), forwarding this newsletter and sending me good painting jujubes.

Thanks so much for your interest in my artwork - and for supporting me in my journey, warmly, Kim

The mercury is rising a wee bit each day and the days are getting longer and brighter. Over the weekend we drove with the moonroof open just to feel the sun's meager and oh-so-very-welcome warmth (although the heat in the car was cranked, too, in the interest of full disclosure!). I wanted to work with spring-like colors today, and this little guy was still on my mind , so I grabbed a small panel and got to work. Of course, I also have Poppy to finish and some changes to make to another po

It's been wonderfully crazy the last 10 months or so, as eager collectors have been buying my work, often while it remained unfinished. While I do truly love that the paintings were/are resonating so deeply, I also realized that I needed to institute some changes in how I offered them for sale. Selling immediately wasn't serving my newly discovered desire to savor what the p
