Rose Hips

Rose Hips view her on my website Rose Hips, original acrylic on panel, 18”x24”, $1000 plus s&h. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . I’ve had this painting idea for a long time - that of a rose tattooed horse. I’ve tried to paint her a couple times with little success. You see, my paintings show up as a glittery thread, not as fully formed ideas. So I have to sort of unearth and then breathe life into them. Some require multiple excursions. It’s a strange thing to try and explain. I truly don’t know how any of my paintings will land - I simply show up and honor that initial scrap of glittery thread as best I can. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. So this time when this mare began to take shape, I realized that while interpreting this thread, I made several wrong assumptions. One, that the roses were literally on the horse’s skin, akin to a tattoo. And two, that the horse had literal skin. She is a vessel with tr...

Try Me

Try Me view her on my website Try Me, original acrylic on panel, 24”x30”, $1300 plus s&h. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . Monday all my buttons had been pushed, repeatedly, for far too long. So I took it to the easel, which is one of my best therapies. The She Wolf slowly stepped from the autumnal woods, her gaze unflinching, her intentions clear. There’s something very significant at stake (hmm…. I wonder what that might be?). This painting reminds me of a saying we had when my kids were younger: Mean Mom never showed up uninvited. You may view Try Me  on my website , inside a room setting and up close, like nose to nose up close, if you dare. The link to purchase her is also there.  Let me know  if you would like a payment plan (30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus shipping paid in full inside 12 months time). Intravenous

Intravenous view her on my website Intravenous, original acrylic on a handmade  Bara Woodshaping  cradled wood panel, sides painted (no pressing need to frame), 24”x30”x1-1/2”, $2000 plus s&h. I always welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . I was born with a seemingly absurd passion for animals, particularly horses. My parents had no interest in pets nor animals in general, so it wasn’t a learned behavior. Keep in mind, too, I grew up in a pre-internet world in a small town with very limited access to television, film and books (until I was of school age). I was left to my own imagination, and it was - has always been - filled with horses of all kinds and colors. I am wired in this beautiful, fantastical way, to carry a deep love for horses. Over the years this love has grown to encompass the entirety of our natural world. My art has evolved to reflect this - animals as vessels holding landscape elements close to ...

The Quick Brown Fox

The Quick Brown Fox view her on my website The Quick Brown Fox, original acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, 24”x36”x1-1/2”, image painted around the sides (so no pressing need to frame), $2000 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. Grab the button above or   reach out   to ask for a payment plan (details below). This painting was one of the central pieces included in my solo show last year, Fox, at The Manoogian Gallery inside Liggett University Schools. I was surprised this morning to see that, oddly enough, she had never been shared via my newsletter - that was a huge oversight, now corrected. This lovely has found herself back on the market through no fault of her own, and I know she is going to find the very best home! The Quick Brown Fox holds all of the autumnal woods in her core. She’ll entice you to go on a walk through the dappled light and savor the crunch of leaves under foot. She’ll dance between the trees to birdsong as the fall color ripens. Who wouldn’t...

Hope

Hope view her on my website order prints here Hope, original acrylic (overtop collaged paper) on cradled wood panel, sides naked (exposed wood) for a clean contemporary look, 20”x20”x1-1/2”, sold (thank you and congratulations to GO!). I always welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . Hope came home yesterday after hanging out at  The Anton Art Center  for a few months, where she received an honorable mention in an exquisite and deeply talented Artists’ Choice exhibition (thank you again to esteemed juror  Dr. Anita Bates ). On the drive back to the studio, I toyed with the idea of keeping Hope for myself. But that seemed a bit unfair - I don’t know who out there may need a good dose of Hope. So I decided that I’ll leave it up to The Powers That Be to determine where Hope ends up. And what do you know - she had a new home within a few hours (thank you again to my newest collector!) You are invited to view Hope...

Effervescent

Effervescent view her on my website Effervescent, original acrylic on panel, 16”x20”, $850 plus s&h. I always welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . This one feels more spring to me than autumn (can you find the crabapples?), but I’m not complaining. Particularly because we have had days of rain here in Michigan, and while the grass has greened up some, I’m aching to see blue skies. You are invited to view Effervescent   on my website , inside a room setting and up close, like nose to the canvas up close. The link to purchase is also there.  Let me know  if you would like a payment plan (30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus shipping paid in full inside 12 months time). Indian Summer

Indian Summer view her on my website Indian Summer, original acrylic on panel, 24”x18”, $1000 plus s&h. I always welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . I was still  “om-ming”  when I started this one. Of course, elements of the prior painting or whatever I happen to be thinking about always travel into the next piece. While I may paint isolated in my basement studio, my art doesn’t is not made in a vaccum. I choose what to consciously invite, like the fox I dream about and a color palette inspired by the season, but my gut brings the rest. Intuitive painting is about setting the table and waiting to see who your guest of honor will be. It is the most demanding form of painting I have ever tried - and the most satisfying. I have no idea what’s coming next, but I know she will be fascinating. You are invited to view Indian Summer  on my website , inside a room setting and up close, like nose to the canvas up cl...

Optimist

Optimist view her on my website Optimist, original acrylic on panel, 24”x18”, private collection (thank you!). I always welcome your questions. Just  reach out . Optimist began as a demonstration painting in my workshop last month. We spent the first day drawing fox in a variety of ways, and then mined our favorite processes and results to build a fresh, line centric versions in paint. I never tire of experimenting with materials and melding the results - it always surprises me. You are invited to view Optimist  on my website , inside a room setting and up close (that’s the best way to see the layered history and gesture across her surface).   Let me know  if you would like a payment plan on any of my originals over $500(30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus shipping paid in full inside 12 months time). Repeat offenders, i.e. returning collectors, please use “COLLECTOR10” at checkout for 10% off the acquisition of original artwork. Thanks so much fo...

Om

Om view her on my website Om, original acrylic on panel, 24”x18”, $1000 plus s&h. I always welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . Did you know that the mantra “om” is considered to be the primordial sound from which the universe was born? I kept finding myself humming “om” (would that be considered “om-ming”?) as I worked on this one. Her relaxed face, the caress of light, the profusion of petals, all seemed to float and lean in to the sound as I painted. It was a very beautiful, calming afternoon spent in my flow state with the soothing sound. I wish you a pocket of the same today and always. You are invited to view Om  on my website , inside a room setting and up close, like nose to the canvas up close. The link to purchase is also there.  Let me know  if you would like a payment plan (30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus shipping paid in full inside 12 months time).
