NEW PAINTING Fortitude

Fortitude, acrylic on 24" cradled round panel, 1" profile, image painted around the sides (so no need to frame), $1800 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. Questions can always come to me.

Life has been pretty challenging lately.

I know I'm not alone. War, earthquakes, political unrest, human rights inequalities, persecutions, mass shootings, terrifying severe weather - and that's just part of it, right? there is also the day to day stuff, the family things, job/household responsibilities, staying healthy, tending to our own emotional balance. Like I said, it's grueling.

I've had some very lucid dreams lately. And a recurring character threaded through them. A fiery black horse.

So I invited her to the easel. I expected to get her blocked in (what I call the first pass on a painting) and begin to decipher her message over a period of time. But Fortitude was having none of that quiet, slow entry sort of thing. She was all in.

She was on a mission to remind me of my own strength. And that she's got my back when I'm not feeling strong enough myself. That many things are not about toil or toughing them out, but simply breathing through, honoring all of the demands, and trusting that answers will come when I am ready to hear them.

And in the process of showing up and telling me all this, Fortitude also revealed some key answers to a few problems I had been exploring with my paints. It's pretty remarkable when that happens. Like I was humbled enough with her message, and then she spins around and says, by the way, take a look at this.....

Thanks so much for your interest in my artwork,
All my best, warmly, Kim

I am thinking about the elements, and wondering aloud (and with my paints) as to whether I can paint something that contains all of them. Spirit. Fire. Air. Water. Earth. This one is a step closer in that direction. Thanks so very much for following along on my art journey, Warmly, Kim

Tabby Kit

"Tabby Kit," 5" x 7", acrylics on a museum quality panel, depicting a tiny little orange striped guy from Morgue File . This painting can be yours for $289, which includes s&h inside the US. And in case you didn't see it, a little doodle of him is also available for sale here . Inquires may come directly to me .  Although it certainly doesn't FEEL like spring here (snow and ice and wind chills, brr!), I can tell that spring is coming. The mercury is rising a wee bit each day and the days are getting longer and brighter. Over the weekend we drove with the moonroof open just to feel the sun's meager and oh-so-very-welcome warmth (although the heat in the car was cranked, too, in the interest of full disclosure!). I wanted to work with spring-like colors today, and this little guy was still on my mind , so I grabbed a small panel and got to work. Of course, I also have Poppy to finish and some changes to make to another po
