“Sleeping Shar-pei (Raisin),” 6” x 12”, Shar-pei puppy portrait in acrylic on canvasboard, $80. Inquiries to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com .
SOLD.
I thought of titling this one “Squished,” which is a bit how Raisin looks painted, although in reality he was all relaxed while snoozing. I loved this pose and angle, especially the contrast between those tender puppy pads and that big ole’ wet pink nose (which I understand is NOT a desired trait on these dogs, but that’s how Raisin’s is, and it IS terribly winsome). I may paint this particular pose again, but longer still, and not as tightly cropped. But for today, this is what you get!!
On another note, the Dog-a-Day collectors’ ranks grew just a little bit yesterday. (I have never had a day quite like yesterday!)
Ø Thank you to Kory Lowe for her purchase of the Cairn Terrier Study from June 15th, and the painting titled “Rapt” from June 27th.
Ø Thank you to Mary Hibbs for her purchase of “Tabby Cat Wink” and “Tortoiseshell Study,” both from June’s Shelter & Rescue Week. Donations will be made to 2nd Chances Pit Bull Rescue in Charlotte Michigan and to the Friends of Michigan Animal Shelter in Bellevue in Mary’s name.
Ø Thank you to Diane Chesko for her purchase of yesterday’s Vizsla.
Ø Thank you to Judy Woodfill for purchasing May 24th’s sweet little black Pomeranian painting.
Ø Thank you to Sharon Paradis-Sharp for purchasing three dog a day pieces – a pug painting from last December, and two Jack Russells, March 19th and Dec 20th.
And again, to my new readers, a warm welcome.
FYI for the Dog-a-Day newbies - The entire project is viewable on the blog (if you happen to be reading this via the newsgroup) – http://www.paintingadogaday.blogspot.com/ . The blog is also searchable by keyword, so you can pinpoint particular breeds (“doxie,” “hound,” etc), shelter and rescue week dogs (“shelter,” “rescue”), or even just the paintings available for purchase (“available”). (Hmm…. I should figure out how to program a little floater/pop-up box on my blog with these instructions, shouldn’t I? Any html wizards out there care to share their expertise? Drop me a line at ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com )
A final thank you, as always, for looking.
And for sharing these paintings with your friends and family. What a pack we are making here!!
Take care,
Kim
