IN PROCESS: "Boots and His Mama," 8" square, soon to be available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting another little goat.

Just a quick view of what's on my easel before I dash off to tackle some other tasks and a kid or two. So enjoy my short note (it's highly unusual, I know!) and know that tomorrow you'll get Boots' life story and see the finished piece.

    Adorables petites chèvres... Semblables à celles de Monsieur Seguin, elles ont dû aimer paître dans les pâturages là_haut sur la montagne pour avoir de si belles couleurs... en savourant des fleurs de toutes les nuances...

    Hi Kim--I always love your work, so expressive. This is a great piece. Question: how do you get "You might also like" onto your blog?? I was trying to do that on mine, but can't figure it out. Thanks & Keep up the wonderful work!

    Linda, thanks for the comment! I added the LinkWithin add-on well over a year ago and don't recall many of the specifics - I suggest googling "Link Within," going to their support page, and finding information specific to your blogging software and configuration. Good luck!!

Picture Book "A Dog Named Blue" - now available!!

The cover of "A Dog Named Blue," now available from Blurb publishers. When I first painted Amelia I never imagined that she would be re-christened "Blue" and inspire a book. In her defense, Amelia had a number of other partners in crime - animals who's portraits seemed to fall into a specific color category and prompt color-centric names. In typical ADD fashion, my brain started spinning 100mph. What if I turned those muses' paintings into a picture book for animal loving kids? I shared my idea with three friends in the industry, and they eagerly offered their expertise. I am truly indebted to them. Illustrator and author Matt Faulkner and children's book author and literacy expert Kristen Remenar edited an early version of the draft. They suggested key plot/conceptual changes that made it oodles better. Designer Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson worked her magic, pairing the images with perfectly color...
